With the accelerated evolution of modern warfare, intelligent and unmanned combat operations are gradually moving toward practical application. AI-based drone harassment, integrated reconnaissance-strike capabilities, and swarm attacks have become critical forms of airstrike operations, posing severe challenges to existing air defense systems. In this context, rapidly enhancing counter-drone capabilities has become an urgent need in the fields of national defense and security.

To pool social innovation resources and promote the development of counter-drone technology, the first “Falcon-2024” Counter-UAS Technology Innovation Competition, jointly organized by the Air Force Equipment Department and the Air Force Engineering University, was successfully held this year at the Air Force Engineering University in Xi’an. The competition aimed to “discover and evaluate treasures” from across society, encouraging cross-disciplinary integration and innovative thinking, and widely soliciting disruptive concepts and key technologies. The goal was to collaboratively build an efficient and reliable counter-UAS protection system and comprehensively enhance the capability to address drone threats.

Wuhan Lakeda participated with its independently developed XW/SR226-10200S active phased array low-altitude security radar, standing out among more than 80 competing units and winning the Excellence Award.

XW/SR226-10200S Active Phased Array Low-Altitude Security Radar

The XW/SR226-10200S is a technologically advanced low-altitude security radar system, which includes one radar array, one servo mechanical turntable, and Lakeda’s self-developed LGSS software system. This equipment is capable of efficiently detecting, providing real-time alerts, and accurately indicating targets for micro/small civilian drones within the protected area. It can also output precise target trajectory information, including azimuth, distance, altitude, and speed. It has been widely applied in critical security scenarios such as border control, airport security, and military installations.
